We generally spend our birthdays doing what we love the most. But for my latest birthday, I decided to spend it doing something different. I came across something unique, an experience that is still new in India and you can’t find it everywhere in India. I am talking about wine tours in the vineyards of Nashik, a city that is also known as the wine capital of India. We were also looking forward to seeing some popular religious sights in the city. Some of these interesting sights are the Ram Kund and Panchavati temples. Infact around this area, the Kumbh Mela is hosted every 12 years. While researching, I also come across a gem and I definitely wanted to visit the Pandavleni caves. Since the religious sites, Pandavleni Caves and the vineyards are all located in different directions, we were looking for a luxury hotel that is located centrally. And we found our answer in Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar situated near the Nashik-Mumbai highway.
About Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar
Best luxury and value for money in Nashik, Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar is part of the recent vector of Holiday Inn Express. This chain of hotel offers a smart choice for smart and business travelers. The queen rooms and twin rooms are compact with everything that you would need for a short stay. Being an IHG hotel, Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar maintains similar levels of hygiene and services. The hotel has a modern decor that looks very functional. It also has a basic gym for health-conscious travelers.
Our check-in and check-out happened at lightning speed and genuine smiles greeted us throughout our stay. Even the housekeeping staff never missed a chance to share pleasantries. What a great way to treat the guests!
The Rooms
As you walk through the hallways to reach your room, you will be able to catch glimpses of common sights in Nashik. The black and white pictures on the corridor walls show some of the well known as well as offbeat gems of Nashik. The rooms match the interiors of the rest of the hotel and are sleek and contemporary. The bed is welcoming and a 42” TV with all HD channels is a great way to relax after a busy day.
The room also has a tea/coffee tray, a mini-fridge and a safety locker. The rooms in Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar have a “no-frills” sense but are self-sufficient. Room service is 24×7 and is very prompt. The dine-in food menu has limited options and hence I recommend that you dine in the Express Cafe which is on the ground floor. However, you can always request any cafe menu dishes to be sent to your room if you place the order in the cafe.
Express Cafe
The cafe at Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar is truly express as its name suggests. There is a breakfast buffet every morning till 10:00 am and lunch and dinner are served as buffet and ala-carte both. The breakfast buffet contains a healthy combination of both Indian and continental dishes.
In fact, the Indian category contains both south Indian idlis, vadas with sambar and north Indian delicacies like poha, paranthas, poori sabji so that there is a wide variety of items for even vegetarians. You will also find eggs to order, sausages, sandwiches, cakes and croissants. The lunch buffet and dinner buffet consist of a good mix of Indian and continental vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The dessert section was my favorite with cheesecakes, brownies and gulab jamuns, just to name a few.
Our experience
We visited the Pandavleni caves on our first evening in Nashik and saw the sunset from the top. The next day we took a day trip package with Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar. We visited the main religious sites and all the nearby vineyards. Our driver was quite knowledgeable and helped us refine our itinerary. We didn’t limit our wine trail in Nashik to only the prominent vineyards but explored the smaller labels too and loved the dedicated attention there.
Overall we had a great stay with Holiday Inn Express Nashik Indira Nagar. I would highly recommend staying there if you are visiting Nashik for a business or a staycation.
