Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road : ALLSAFE for the love of travel

After the initial restrictions due to covid for the last six months, we were looking forward to spending some time away. However, we did not want to travel out of the city and were looking for a staycation within Bengaluru. We needed a safe, luxurious and kid-friendly hotel to take some time off from work and rejuvenate. Obviously, in the current scenario, safety was on top of our minds and our choice to unlock travel with Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road turned out to be just perfect.

We have stayed with Accor hotels before and their hospitality is amazing. I was aware that all Accor hotels have adopted the ALLSAFE cleanliness and prevention label which is one of the highest standards of hygiene guidelines in the Hotel Industry. But it was only when I stayed at Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road, I understood the real meaning of it and the hard work that goes behind it. As we reached the hotel, our temperature was checked and all our baggage was sanitized thoroughly.

The entrance has a hand sanitizing unit and the covid prevention measures are displayed at multiple corners inside the lobby and other areas of the hotel. The check-in process was fast and smooth while maintaining social distancing. The meet and greet and the check-in process were completely contactless and everyone in the hotel was wearing masks. I observed the staff wears an added level of protection in form of shields and maintains social distancing at all times.

Once the check-in was completed we were offered a travel safety kit that has everything that you would need to travel safely. On our way to our room, I realised that while staying at the hotel will give you a feeling of a luxury escape, there are continuous important reminders to take precautionary measures in the new normal. Wearing a mask, sanitising surfaces and maintaining social distancing is the best way to travel in the current times and the ALLSAFE program knows it.

We were greeted by a sticker on our room door saying that the room was sanitized and kept unoccupied for 24-48 hours. This immediately put my mind at ease. Our room was really spacious and comfortable overlooking the pool and the open-air restaurant and had everything that you would need for a staycation starting from a really comfortable bed, a coffee machine, a flat-screen TV, a small fridge. The room also had a functional study table and a sofa couch which would be my spot had I wished to work with a view.

Breakfasts are a grand affair in Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road. We opted for in-room dining for the breakfasts but honestly did not miss the breakfast buffet at all.

You can see how tempting the wide array of dishes right from south-indian, north-indian to continental cuisines, is! It is like a dream for any foodie to be pampered with so much good mood food and we loved the delicious spread at Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road.

One of the days, we opted for a healthy lunch which had some really interesting and delicious dishes even though they were not prepared in a conventional way. The gluten-free pizza was made from millet flour and tasted really good.

I loved their sugar-free dessert Sago and coconut pudding and the broken wheat Tabbouleh which was also vegan.

Another day we were treated to a South Indian thali and I loved their fish preparations. Their menu has some really exciting items that I can’t wait to come back and try out later.

We had an amazing time at their open-air poolside restaurant, Blue Terrain that has a beautiful and romantic ambiance. We celebrated our missed occasions there with lovely drinks and lip-smacking gourmet food.

Another night, we were surprised by the staff as they decorated our table with flowers and balloons creating the perfect ambiance for a romantic date night. The dishes that were served were continental and it went perfectly with my glass of white wine.

We also experienced the IPL live screening one night at Chez Nous and it was the perfect way to cheer for our favorite IPL team with family.

The team at Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road really impressed me with their hospitality and friendliness. They were more than happy to customize and take special requests for our little one and that made us feel very comfortable and at home. Traveling with kids during these times comes with its own challenges but the Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road staff makes it smoother and pleasant.

Infact, they won me over by organizing a baking session for my son and Chefs taught him how to make different flavours of cupcakes from scratch. A special thanks to Chef Ganapathy, Chef Durbar, Chef Megha and Richa for having thought of this. And this enormously fun session was definitely one of the highlights of our staycation with Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road.

Our staycation experience at Novotel Bengaluru Outer Ring Road was definitely one of the best rejuvenating staycations. With no traveling outside, we had all the time to relax, bond, enjoy the food and make wonderful memories.
