Most of the time when we think of Goa, beaches are the first things that come to our minds. But if you think again you might think of Goa beyond the beaches. For me, it is vibrancy, the colors and the amalgamation of history, culture and food in Goa. And a hotel that does justice to this symphony is ibis Styles Goa Calangute.
Located near Tivai beach and Calangute beach, the hotel is designed to truly represent the spirit of Goa. Right from the colors to the graffiti to the architecture, the hotel reminded me of all the different places in Goa that I had seen in bits and pieces in my last several visits to Goa. Simply loved how every nook and corner had a story that is special to Goa.
The Check-in process
As soon as you step into the lobby of ibis Styles Goa Calangute, the chic and creative decor will make you feel that you are in Goa. The space is colorful and playful and makes you feel welcomed and relaxed. Our check-in was quick and contactless and we made our way to our rooms in the building overlooking the kid’s pool.
Hotel grounds
On my way, I noticed how kid-friendly the hotel is with three swimming pools and a kid’s play area. There is also a lot of open space for kids to play around and green areas for guests to sit and just chill. I could hear music near the pools that gave out a pretty chilled-out vibe and watching people enjoying themselves, it felt like one big party.
There are mainly two large buildings with multiple wings and the architecture is inspired by Portuguese architecture. All rooms have a pool view balcony that is just perfect for a family staycation.
The Rooms
ibis Styles Goa Calangute has all deluxe AC rooms with queen size beds, work desks and a cute sitting area. I loved how vibrant the decor of the room was, with the highlight wall covered with blue patterns. The room also has a 32 inch LED TV and tea coffee facilities. The decor of the room is very contemporary and breezy giving out total vacay vibes but the best part of the room is the balcony that overlooks the swimming pools and the green spaces.
The Graffiti
One of the best things about ibis Styles Goa Calangute is how artistic it is and any creative person is bound to fall in love with the hotel. The vintage photographs in the corridors bring out the heritage side of Goa and the graffiti and the quirky colorful decor speak about the fun side of Goa.
Just next to the main swimming pool there is this huge graffiti which is a fun map of North Goa which chalks out the places you can visit and activities. Also, the main building has a long-running graffiti that lists out all the places that you can visit from South Goa to North Goa. Such a helpful guide to planning your itinerary even if it is not your first visit to Goa.
Good Mood Food
Matching the colorful vacation vibes of ibis Styles Goa Calangute, is their food from different cuisines that is prepared with a lot of love. We dined at Spice It restaurant during our staycation at ibis Styles Goa Calangute. The restaurant is quite colorful and I really liked the contemporary decor.
I loved the wall art in one corner which represented colorful Tetris. Reminded me of the video games that we played as kids. Overall, the restaurant has a very chill vibe with an open space too overlooking the gorgeous swimming pool.
Overall Hospitality
Our overall experience at ibis Styles Goa Calangute was amazing. The whole team really makes an effort to make your stay comfortable. The service is fast and they focus on every guest especially the little ones. Really liked that they are adhering to all safety protocols and focussing on covid travel guidelines to ensure the safety of the guests.
We found ibis Styles Goa Calangute very family-friendly and trust me kids have an amazing time there thanks to their three swimming pools and kid play areas. Being close to the beaches, ibis Styles Goa Calangute is a great option for families traveling with kids and the elderly as everyone will find something to keep themselves occupied and happy.
We were hosted by ibis Styles Goa Calangute however all views and opinions expressed are mine.
